Started my day yesterday at 5am as I left the house for the airport to go on business trip to Singapore.
Someone said that traveling is like reading a book, and it really felt that way yesterday.
Less than 6 hours in Singapore (outside the airport) and it was like a daydream. Geographically, the country is very near ours, yet it was so different.
I ahd no feeling of being a foreigner in this strange land, and the people were just regular people. Not the friendliest bunch out there. Even southerners in the US are warmer than them.
Life goes on faster there. People walk faster, even those in high heels. No excuse for lagging behind.
Is that one of the many reasons they're more advanced than we are?
9:30pm already back in Jakarta. Reality check. I had to wake up and I found myself among calo taxi at the airport (shortly after the airport experienced power outage.. yes, electricity was down right after my work bag was going through the customs scanner).
Now back in my cubicle, smoking cigarettes like yesterday was just a dream.
harusnya elo ngeliat dari angle yang beda yas.... mereka harus sampe jalan aja buru2 biar jadi gitu... nah kita yang males2an aja udah kaya gini indonesianya...gimana kalo kita kaya mereka..bisa2 kita nyampe jaman kaya starwars duluan...ato ga kita dah punya enterprise fleet sementara mereka masi sibuk2 ama air asia
Bener banget, nanya jalan aja diasemin... Hihihi... But I don't know, I like the fact that everything's faster there (kecuali escalator ke MRTnya yang superduper cepet itu). Yah, seperti gue lebih menyukai Jakarta dibanding Bandung for the same reason. The only problem for me is the Singlish, yang membuat bertahun2 hasil gue belajar bahasa Inggris seems such a waste karena gue cuma bisa bilang, "Huh?" tiap kali berhadapan dengan cashier di McD's/BK/Borders/Kinokuniya/(fill in the blanks).
mereka bagus sih untuk hardworkingnya gitu yas, tapi gue ngerasanya jadi kayak zombie. Keliatannya pas nonton konser di sana, gak ada yg berani joget2 atau menikmati musik sampai terlena gitu..semuanya cuma ngangguk2 gitu, dan pas ketemu band idolanya bukannya yg excited atau gimana, ya cuma senyum sambil ngasih pertanyaan2 bodoh doang.
Next time you go there again I'll introduce you to my co-workers. They're super friendly and chatty and won't scowl when you ask for directions, hehehe.
naik sepeda apa naik Honda? Kebetulan (krn budget) kemarin naik Garuda. Harusnya dateng jam 11, kita baru keluar airport jam 12 siang!
Hari terakhir? Penting banget misalnya dalam pekerjaan berikut nya kita bisa simbiosis mutualisme.. he he he
singapore is very artificial.its like they're trying hard to be good and all that, they dont seem 'real'. still,i enjoy a two-day shopping spree there. more than 3 days, it would bore d hell outta me.
the thing is, Singapore government prohibits people to do so called 'vulgar or aggressive' movements while watching music concerts or art performances, in an attempt to avoid any chaos which eventually will disturb the so called serenity of Singapore.no kidding, i read the rules somewhere. singaporeans are so oppressed with too many rules, it kinda numb them, they dont really know how to express themselves, because they're binded by lots of donts.
